El cirujano plástico será quien reconozca, en la primera visita, el estado de la piel y quien aconseje a la paciente la mejor solución al problema que presenta”.

España sigue ostentando el quinto lugar en el ranking de países donde más cirugías plásticas se realizan, gracias a los avances que ha experimentado este sector en los últimos años, ubicándose por detrás de los países estrellas que son Estados Unidos, Brasil, México y Alemania. Y de todas ellas, la abdominoplastia es una de las más frecuentes. La demanda ha aumentado también por parte del sexo masculino que busca un abdomen más firme y plano.

Sus ventajas

Este tipo de operación “suele ser muy demanda entre las mujeres con el fin de recuperar la figura tras el parto. Pero con ella no sólo se logra este objetivo estético, sino que los estudios apuntan a que reduce el riesgo de incontinencia urinaria, un problema frecuente tras los embarazos, así como el dolor de espalda”, recalca el especialista.  Y no sólo, la intervención ha constatado tener ventajas para las personas con obesidad y diabetes tipo II.

Algunas de las famosas que tras dar a luz han pasado por esta intervención son: Angelie Jolie, la primera de la lista en someterse a ella en tras dar tener a sus gemelos, Britney Spears, que con 35 años y tras dos embarazos, se rumorea que ha pasado por varias cirugías, entre ellas una de mama y a la del abdomen, así como Mariah Carey, entre otras muchas.

La operación

La intervención dura de dos a tres horas y se inicia con la extracción del exceso de grasa situado en el bajo vientre (liposucción). A continuación, se procede a tensar la pared abdominal reduciendo la distancia entre los músculos de la pared abdominal que se han separado debido al embarazo, los cambios de peso, etc. Esta corrección espacial de los músculos es lo que permite tensar de nuevo el vientre. “La cicatriz de una abdominoplastia se localiza en la zona del pubis y es más o menos larga en función de la longitud de la incisión que la operación haya exigido, pero poco visible por su ubicación. Para realizar este tipo de intervenciones suele aplicarse anestesia general o bien anestesia epidural y el paciente debe permanecer ingresado uno o dos días”, recuerda el cirujano Pérez Luengo.

Los riesgos

Igual que en cualquier otro tipo de intervención quirúrgica, la abdominoplastia es una operación que conlleva unos riesgos: flebitis, infecciones, riesgos relacionados con la anestesia, etc. Por todo ello “es imprescindible acudir a un cirujano plástico que sea competente y esté cualificado para llevar a cabo dicha intervención en un medio hospitalario con garantías. Esto reducirá los riesgos y nos dará la suficiente confianza como para ponernos en sus manos”, apostilla el experto.

El postoperatorio

Tras la operación, hay que llevar un seguimiento regular. Normalmente, se hace una primera cura a los cinco días y dos revisiones semanales al inicio. Después, se hará un seguimiento personalizado para garantizar que la cicatrización sigue su curso con normalidad. “Se recomienda llevar una faja de contención durante cuatro semanas como mínimo, y durante la primera semana se seguirá un tratamiento analgésico, antibiótico y de profilaxis de las tromboflebitis”, según prescriba el cirujano.

La reincorporación laboral deberá programarse para los 10 a 12 días siguientes a la operación, y la actividad física no podrá retomarse hasta pasadas, como mínimo, unas seis semanas y se hará de forma progresiva.

Es conveniente, además, tener en cuenta otras medidas:

·       Se puede caminar desde el primer día, pero evita cualquier esfuerzo y hacerlo de la forma en la que indique el

·       Se debe dormir boca arriba y con las rodillas en alto.

·       No tomar el sol o rayos UVA en la zona operada

·       Ingerir abundantes líquidos y una dieta equilibrada y sana con alto contenido en fibra.

Resultados

La cicatriz es casi ‘invisible’ porque se puede ocultar con el traje de baño. Una vez el proceso haya finalizado, la marca sólo será lineal. Al principio adoptará un tono rojizo y al cabo de cuatro a seis meses iniciará su proceso de maduración, hasta palidecer a los 12 meses. Los resultados son rápidos y se aprecian casi de inmediato. Es normal que durante los primeros dos o cuatro meses se note un edema justo debajo del ombligo”. En algunos pacientes, es posible que la zona central la cicatriz, con más tensión, aumente en anchura con el paso del tiempo. Siempre es corregible, eliminando parte de la cicatriz bajo anestesia local, una vez que los tejidos se hayan acomodado. Quitting chewing gum could be an easy answer for pain relief for teens with headaches, but it should be noted that some teens simply switch their gum chewing to another oral fixation such as chewing pens, fingernails, or even smoking. These can all contribute to further pain and abnormal bone development and poor ligament and cartilage health so any gum cessation advice should be followed with clear information on the reasons for such guidance.

Headache Relief by Quitting Gum

The researchers in this study noted that some kids have suffered chronic headaches for years, and undergone expensive and invasive diagnostic tests to rule out a variety of causes before the realisation of the link to their gum chewing. In this study, 30 participants aged years were assessed for gum-chewing habits and headache characteristics, along with medical and neurological history, family history of headaches, and known headache triggers.

The participants were asked to stop chewing gum for a month and 26/30 patients had at least some improvement in symptoms, with 19 no longer suffering from headaches at all. All participants were then asked to resume gum-chewing to the same degree as prior to the study. Of thoe 26 that had their headaches relieved when not chewing gum, 20 began suffering headaches again within a week of reintroducing the habit.

Even an Hour of Gum-Chewing Linked to Headaches in Children

The interesting thing about the results of this study is that the time spent chewing gum did not significantly influence the frequency of headaches. Some of the children had severe tension headaches when chewing gum for just an hour a day, while others chewed gum for more than six hours a day. Such excessive gum chewing may, however, lead to anatomical disturbances that could predispose a person to temporomandibular joint disorder, headaches, and neck pain later in life.

The recommendation from this study then, is to discontinue gum-chewing for several weeks if headaches are experienced regularly and to see if symptoms are resolved fully or partially. Reintroducing the gum after this time may prompt a return of headaches and help isolate the cause of the condition.

De laatste episode uit Las Vegas!

Dit is het tweede restaurant in Las Vegas waar ik over wil vertellen, namelijk Stripsteak. De naam is op zich een uitleg over wat het is en waar het is in Vegas (op de Strip) maar het laat totaal niet zien wat een geweldig restaurant dit is!

Bijzondere van dit restaurant is dat het niet zijn eigen url heeft, maar dat de url gaat via de naam van de chef: goalma.org

Om te beginnen hebben ze een geweldige bar met een enorme selectie aan verschillende whisky&#;s voor de liefhebbers (zijn er meer dan volgens de website). Het leuke van dit restaurant is, behalve dat ze een 4 sterren bediening hebben die zich letterlijk het vuur uit hun sloffen loopt voor je, ze ook een open keuken hebben waarin je het bakken van de steaks gewoon kunt zien.

Ik heb wat extra foto&#;s op facebook gezet: goalma.org hoewel ze door het gedimde licht, wat in al die restaurants helaas normaal is, lang niet zo goed zijn geworden als ik graag zou willen.

Bij de open keuken kun je de enorme stukken vlees zien die hier staan te bakken, soms met een steekvlam erbij, maar over het algemeen gewoon lekker een tijdje op de hele grote grill die ze hier hebben.

Nu hebben ze hier natuurlijk grote steaks in alle soorten en maten, maar er is ook van alles en nog wat aan andere dingen die ze hier serveren.

Om te beginnen kregen we bij ons drankje per persoon een bakje met frietjes die in eendevet gefrituurd zijn met 3 verschillende sausjes waaronder een truffelmayonaise. mmm.

Daarna hebben we verschillende voorgerechten gedeeld, en daar zaten gebakken buikspek bij, vistartaarbolletjes op een stukje gegrild brood, en kleine lobster taco&#;s. Alles was heerlijk, mooi geserveerd, en we hadden ook constant mensen die kwamen vragen of alles  wel naar wens was.

En toen natuurlijk de steaks. We hadden eigenlijk allemaal een andere steak, en er werd ook advies gegeven over welke soort steak je het beste kon nemen, al naar gelang de smaak die je zocht. Ik zocht een goede stevige smaak met een zacht vlees wat je echt bijna &#;rare&#; kon eten. Ik heb toen een Bone In Rib Eye steak genomen. Nu moet ik tot mijn schaamte bekennen dat er zo veel soorten waren dat er een paar bij waren die ik niet kende, maar iedereen gaf gewoon aan wat hij verwachtte van zijn steak, en dan werd er een advies gegeven. Geweldige product kennis.

Ik moest natuurlijk weer iets anders, en dus heb ik er een &#;side&#; van Lobster tail bij genomen. Ok, ik geef het toe, na de lobster zou ik liever doorgegaan zijn met een andere lobster in plaats van de steak zo lekker was hij. Goed gekruid (vanillie zout?) met een perfecte garing, vooral niet te gaar, hij was om je vingers bij op te eten. Een van de mensen waar ik mee was, keek naar mijn gezicht bij het eten hiervan, en vroeg of de lobster echt ZO goed was. Nou dat was hij!

Maar ik mag natuurlijk het enorme stuk beest dat ook op mijn bord lag niet verwaarlozen. Wauw, de grootte hiervan, dat is niet wat je normaal gesproken in Nederlands op je bord krijgt, dit was echt een BIG steak! Prima gebakken, lekker op smaak gebracht, echt een feest voor elke liefhebber. Toen ik om me heen keek zat iedereen te smullen, en er werd me verzekerd dat de rest van het vlees ook werkelijk heel goed was.

Helaas hadden we toen met zijn allen zoveel gegeten dat we het dessert hebben overgeslagen en door zijn gegaan naar de koffie etc.

Maar, wil je een goede steak, of gewoon een geweldig restaurant in Vegas, dan hoort dit restaurant zeker op je lijstje te staan!
